Happy ending to dognapping case

There has been a happy ending in a bizarre dognapping case, which has seen 11 year only Ross and two-year-old Katie Wilson reunited with Wookie, their beloved Yorkshire terrier.
The happy ending comes after an appeal in the media to reunite Wookie with the Wilson family after she was dog napped last week.
Family friend Ollie Wilkinson, 14, had been looking after the pooch when a woman motorist acting erratically accused Ollie of letting Wookie run into the road.
The woman snatched the terrier and drove off while Ollie looked on in disbelief.
The Wilson Family were distraught at the news and Ross and Katie’s mother Alison Wilson, 29, told reporters that her children had cried themselves to sleep after the theft.
The national media picked up on the story and began a campaign to reunite Wookie with his loving family.
The campaign worked and Alsion received a call from a youth in York who said he knew the woman who had snatched Wookie and had ordered her to return to pooch to a local animal centre.
Wookie was then found tied to a gate at an RSPCA centre in York, sporting a new hair cut and having put on weight.
It is not clear what the woman’s motivations were for stealing the four-legged terrier but the Wilson family are just pleased to have Wookie back home.
The Yorkshire Post reports on Alison’s delight at Wookie’s return, she said:
“I am absolutely overjoyed to have him back, we thought we’d never see him again. Our family was missing a huge part without him. Katie loves him and they have had a kiss and a cuddle.”
