Jack the black cat pushes his luck to the limit
Posted on September 9, 2010 | 1 Comment
Jack is a black cat that really did live up to his Lucky nature when he survived being impaled on a railing.
Jack had been walking along the railings of a rusty fence near his home, in Rotherham, when he slipped and one of the railing posts speared him through the leg.
Amazingly Jack survived the impact but remained impaled on the fence until his owners returned home.
Discovering Jack was a traumatic experience for Jacks owners Nicola Milbourn and Robert Hulme, who said the moggy was in a “terrible state”.
The fire brigade soon came to the rescue, cutting the railings so that Jack and the section of the fence he was impaled on could be transported to the vets who successfully removed the spikes, whilst preventing Jack from loosing too much blood.
Jack, who is currently sporting a shaved side and attractive neck cone, is expected to make a full recovery.
Meanwhile Robert and Nicola are appealing to the council to remove the fence.
Fortunately cats that become impaled on metal railings are rare; however cats can get themselves into all sorts of trouble. If you have mischievous moggy you should take out cat insurance, to offer you some financial protection.
